Frequently asked questions regarding Register personnel/approved applicants status

Q) What does “Are you RedR Australia personnel” on the training application form mean?

A) You are considered RedR Australia Standby Roster personnel if you have received a formal acceptance letter. This normally happens after applicants have completed the mandatory EHP and PSSC courses, and been successful at the final interview stage. Some applicants were accepted as Standby Roster members before completing training, prior to 2005. These people are eligible for training, but will not be deployed on mission until the mandatory courses have been completed. Members of Engineers Australia, RedR UK or other affiliates are not automatically considered Standby Roster members of RedR Australia.

Before applying for any of the courses listed above, please note the following:

  • All course fees are subsidised thanks to support from the Australian Government.
  • Our courses are residential. Course fees include accommodation and meals, but not transport.
  • Course fees are in Australian dollars.
  • Some of our training courses are aimed at people with a degree of experience in humanitarian work. These courses have selection criteria to ensure participants have sufficient experience to contribute to and benefit from the specialised training.
  • RedR Australia is unable to facilitate any visa application process for international participants.
  • Instructions regarding logistics will be provided upon payment of course fees.
