East Africa Food Crisis

In early 2017, famine was declared in parts of South Sudan where civil war continues to force people from their homes and agricultural land.  Meanwhile, more than 20 million people in the Horn of Africa are experiencing severe food shortages, following prolonged drought, and are now at risk of famine. We have experts supporting affected populations in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan. They are providing surge support to the Food and Agricultural Office, the World Food Programme, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund.
