Frequently Asked Qustions regarding Register Member/Approved Applicants status
Q. What does “Are you a RedR Australia member” on the training application form mean?
A. A person is considered a RedR Australia Standby Register member if they have been formally accepted as a RedR Standby Register member, by letter. This normally happens after a person has completed the mandatory EHP and PSC training, and been successful at the final interview. Some applicants were accepted as Standby Register members prior to completing training, in years pre-2005. These are eligible for training, but will not be deployed on mission until the mandatory courses have been completed. Members of Engineers Australia are not automatically considered Standby Register members of RedR Australia. Members of RedR UK or other affiliates are not automatically considered Standby Register members of RedR Australia.
Q. What does “Standby Register Members/Approved Applicants” mean on the course fees table?
A. A person who is applying to be part of RedR’s emergency StandbyRegister, who has lodged an application form and CV, and has been successfully recommended after the telephone interviewas a good prospect for inclusion on the Standby Register, is considered an Applicant for course fee purposes. Individuals who have not been telephone interviewed and recommended for inclusion onto the Standby Register, are not considered Approved Applicants for the purpose of course fees. Register members, as per the description above, are also offered the Applicant rate. Please note: while we make every endeavour to process applications as quickly as possible, we cannot guarantee to complete the initial applicant screening and telephone interview for applications received less than one month before the first day of the training course.
